July 3rd - the second half starts now
Today is the first day of the 2nd half of the year. Normally July 2nd is kind of a bonus day - it's the day when half of the year is behind us and half of the year is still to come. However, on leap years (like this year), July 2nd is the last day in the first half of the year.
Math majors out there - the first half of the year has three 31-day months, and one 28 day month. The second half has four 31-day months, and no 28-day months. So the second half has 3 more days than the first half. Yes, June 30th marks the end of the first 6 months, but it's not actually the half-way point of the year..
So, given that the year is half over, it seems like a good time to review your progress with your goals. How are you doing?
It's also a good time to re-assess, re-value, and re-plan for the remainder of the year.
I'm sure there are a few dedicated folks out there who are ahead of schedule - that's awesome! Take a look at how far you've come so far, and maybe even ratchet up your goals a level or two.
For those who fell off the wagon at some point - no big deal. Now's a great time to get back on!
Remember, it's a process. it's continuous improvement. it's being better off six months from now than you are today, and even better six months after that. This isn't the Olympics(R), where one person wins and everybody else loses; this is more like modern youth sports, where we all win just by competing! :)
Good luck in the second half - my guess is as long as you're consistent you'll succeed!
